Lee Miller

Lee Miller was a portraitist, fashion photographer, and photo-journalist during World War II.  What I love about her photography is how she uses fashion as a tool to incorporate glamour and terror.  I posted “Fire Masks” which was taken in 1941. It is hard to believe but this is part of her fashion series.  The masks and eye shields worn in this photograph were used in London England as protection from bombs. Take a look at The Lee Miller Archive to read a brief biography and to look at some of her photography.  -Billie
